COLUMBUS, Miss. - It was a tale of two halves for the Mississippi University for Women women's soccer team in a 5-1 loss to Blue Mountain College at the Lowndes County Soccer Complex. The loss in the Owls' oft-delayed home opener dropped the squad to 3-4-1 overall, while the Toppers improved to 4-5-1.
In the first 45 minutes, The W had matters in hand. The Owls tallied the first goal of the match in the 12th minute.
Adrianna Parsons netted the goal that gave MUW the 1-0 advantage, which it carried all the way into the halftime locker room.

As solid as the first segment was for The W, however, the second was a complete 180-degree difference. Blue Mountain rolled up all five of its scores in that final 45 minutes. The Toppers posted goals in the 63', 75', 79', 82' and 89'.
For the evening, BMC doubled up on MUW in total shots, 12-6. The Owls had three shots on-goal, while the Toppers managed eight on frame.
Lizzie Truelock and
Molly Moore each had two shot attempts for the Owls. Parsons, Truelock and
Sydney Shoemaker each had a shot on-goal.

Olivia Clark had three saves in the contest. Here Blue Mountain counterpart Lexi Berry had two saves.
The W will next host Tougaloo College on Thursday (Oct. 7) at the Lowndes County Soccer Complex. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m.
