Owls offense wanes versus Mount St. Joseph University

Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Mississippi University for Women's baseball team had its bats take the afternoon off as it suffered a 10-1 loss versus Mount St. Joseph University, at the Huntingdon College Firehouse Classic.

The Owls (0-5) would must just two hits against the Lions (2-0). Singles by Austin Telano (1-4) in the fourth inning and by Landon Clark (1-3) in the fifth were all The W could muster off MSJU starter Thomas Williams.

MUW tallied in the first inning, plating an unearned run on a Lions' throwing error. Tanner Evans, who had reached after being hit by a pitch, scored what would be The W's lone run of the day.

Avery Anderson started for the Owls and took the loss. Anderson went five innings, allowed eight hits and was charged with three runs (all earned).

The W will play its third game of the tournament on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. versus host Huntingdon.
