Box Score HOOVER, Ala. – The Mississippi University for Women's baseball team had its three-game win streak snapped, dropping a 3-2 decision to Oglethorpe University in a neutral site road contest. The loss dropped the Owls to 3-7 overall, coming off an unblemished three-game weekend series.
The W found itself down 1-0 after the first frame, a score that stood until the top of the fourth. With one out in the fourth,
Joel Estabrook single and went to second on an error at third by the Stormy Petrals. Then with two down,
Austin Telano laced a single that drove in Estabrook to knot matters at 1-1.
Oglethorpe regained the lead in its half of the fifth with an unearned run. The Owls were kept at bay until the top of the eighth, when
Blake Estabrook's RBI single drove home
Blaize Gann, who had reached with a one-out double three batters earlier, to make it 2-2.
With the game still tied heading into the bottom of the ninth,
Joel Estabrook took the hill for The W. Estabrook – the Owls' fourth pitcher of the afternoon – gave up a base on balls, followed by two-consecutive singles as OU got the walk-off win, 3-2.
