COLUMBUS, Miss. - With its post-season fate already decided, the Mississippi University for Women women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) loss, 3-0, at home versus Greenville University at the Roger Short Soccer Complex. The Owls (5-9-0, 4-5-0 SLIAC), despite the setback to the Panthers (8-7-3, 7-2-0 SLIAC), were locked in at the No. 6-seed team for the SLIAC tournament.
The W will be getting a rematch with Greenville, the No. 3 seed in the SLIAC tournament, in its first-round match on Tuesday (Oct. 31) on the Panthers' home pitch.
On Saturday, GU outshot the Owls by an 11-5 margin. All five of The W's attempts were on frame, however.
The Panthers led 2-0 at the intermission and added a goal in the 59th minute for the 3-0 final score.
Katie Mills led MUW with two shot attempts.
