Box Score 2 LAUREL, Miss. - The Mississippi University for Women baseball team earned a doubleheader split on the final day of the season at Southeastern Baptist College. The Owls (6-25-1) lost the opener, 10-4, and bounced back to defeat the Chargers, 7-1, in the season finale.
In game one, amassed nine hits in the setback. Three individuals had multi-hit games for The W.
Matthew Windham led the way by going 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in.
Senior
Tanner Evans also went 2-for-4. Drawing a pair of walks, as well.
CJ Wise was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
The game two win was a result of some discerning plate appearances by the MUW batters. The Owls drew a total of nine walks in the game, while collecting seven hits in the season-ending victory.
Windham and
Avery Benson each drew three free passes, apiece. Windham also scored twice.
Jake Williams (1-2) had a pair of walks, as well.
Seniors
Austin Telano and Evans – playing their final game for the Owls – went out with great efforts. Telano was 1-for-3 with two RBI, while Evans finished with another multi-hit game (going 2-for-4).
Sophomore
Tyler Estabrook also went 2-for-4.
