Grisham is USCAA Pitcher of the Week

PITTSBURGH, Penn. – Mississippi University for Women sophomore Rylie Grisham (Athens, Ala./East Limestone H.S.) has been named as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Pitcher of the Week for softball, it was announced by the national office. The award is for the period ending April 30, 2023.

In last week's games, Grisham went 3-0 from the circle, with two complete games and a relief win. She amassed nine strikeouts and had a 1.24 earned run average over 17.0 innings pitched.

Her efforts were key in helping the Owls go 5-0 last week (and extended their win streak to close the regular season to six games). Among Grishams wins was a pivotal four-hit shutout of NCAA II Lane College, a 30-win team in 2023.

While honored for her pitching, Grisham was perhaps equally devastating to foes with her bat. On the week, she batted .438 with four runs batted in. Among her hits was two doubles and a home run. She scored four runs, as well.

On the year, Grisham is 11-8 from the circle and has a 2.30 ERA. She has eight complete games in 103.2 innings of work, with three shutouts. Opponents are hitting .286 against her.

This year, the 2022 USCAA All-American is batting a healthy .366 (37-101), with six doubles, a triple and two homers. She has driven in 29 runs and sports a .434 on-base average.
