POPLARVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi University for Women battled NAIA foe Louisiana Christian University strong but, in the end, lost by a 3-0 score in a neutral-site match played at Pearl River Community College. The Owls (1-3) were topped by the Wildcats (5-0) by set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.

The LCU attack average of .246 for the match eclipsed MUW's offense of .135 for the afternoon. The W was unable to have any of its players garner double figures in kills.

Zoe Hansen led the Owls with six kills, and no errors, in 15 attempts. That was good for a .400 attack average.

Amonie Silas each registered five kills. Both also were efficient, with Winston hitting .333 and Silas at .308. Winston also had a pair of solo blocks, while Silas assisted on a pair of blocks.
