LORMAN, Miss. - The W women's basketball played its final exhibition game - in preparation for its 2024-25 season opener a week from Friday – with a 106-56 road loss at the hands of NCAA Division I Alcorn State University. The Owls also dropped a bout to NCAA I Jackson State last week.
MUW will be hosting Millsap College on November 15 at Pohl Gym in the official lid-lifter for 2024-25.
The taller and deeper Braves' team held a 52-29 edge in rebounds. The W also committed 27 turnovers, which was converted to 31 ASU points.
Junior transfer
Calysia Phillips led MUW with 15 points. Phillips was 5-of-16 from the field. She also shared high rebound honors with four boards.
Senior guard
Conley Langford added 10 points. She was 4-for-11 from the floor.
Senior
Claire Leak matched Phillips' four rebounds and also tallied eight points, to go along with three steals and three assists.
Leileigh Moody and
Natalie Valois each booked five points.
