DEMOREST, Ga. – The W women's soccer found itself out-gunned on Saturday morning in a 6-0 non-league loss at Piedmont University. The Owls (0-2-1) trailed at the intermission to the Lions (1-1-1) by a 3-0 count.
The host PU team out-shot MUW by a 30-to-4 margin for the match. It's a fact that's not too surprising considering the Lions played 30 total individuals in the match, making it nearly impossible for the 13 Owls' players to keep pace.
The W goalkeeper
Alex Moon was charged with all six goals allowed. Moon made 10 saves, in all, several of the spectacular variety.
The Owls had two shots directly on-frame, one each by
Kate Blankenship and
Kiersten Taylor. Blankenship was the only MUW player with multiple shot attempts at two.
The W will be off until Friday (Sept. 13), when it returns to Georgia to face Agnes Scott College in Decatur. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. Central Time.
