FULTON, Mo. – The W men's soccer found offensive chances at a premium in its, 5-0, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) loss at Westminster College on Sunday. The setback left the Owls at 3-10-1 (0-4-1 SLIAC), while the Blue Jays ascended to 8-4-1 (3-1-1 SLIAC).
MUW found itself facing 30 shot attempts by WC, 15 in each half, and 16 of which were on-goal. That resulted in 10 saves for Owls' starting goalkeeper
Nick Gutierrez, who was charged with all five goals in his 81 minutes.
Daniel Holmes made one save in his nine-minute stint off the bench in The W net.
The Owls had one shot on frame, that by
Sam Davis.
Luke Bradley and
Josh Zuniga also had one shot each, both off target.
The W will next host Blackburn College on Friday (Oct. 24/3 p.m.) at the Roger Short Soccer Complex.
