FULTON, Mo. – The W women's soccer had its starting 11 play all 90 minutes, losing a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) contest at Westminster College, 3-0. The injury-plagued Owls fell to 0-12-2 (0-5-0 SLIAC), while the Blue Jays improved to 7-5-0 (4-1-0 SLIAC).
MUW trailed the host WC side at the intermission, 2-0. The Jays added one second half tally for the final 3-0 score.
Westminster also did a creditable job keeping the MUW attack under control, permitting just one shot try by the Owls'
Ella Mercier. Conversely, the Blue Jays had 25 tries.
MUW goalkeeper
Cam Lopez finished the day with nine saves. She was charged with all three goals, facing a total of 12 shots on-goal.
The W will open a string of three-consecutive home bouts at the Roger Short Soccer Complex this coming Wednesday (Oct. 22/6 p.m.) with a non-conference foe, Agnes Scott College.
