Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s soccer drops SLIAC match at Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -  The W men's soccer lost its second-straight St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) match, falling on the road to Spalding University, 10-1. The Owls fell to 3-7-0 (0-2-0 SLIAC), while the Golden Eagles upped their record to 3-4-3 (1-1-0 SLIAC).

Spalding posted five goals in each half. SU tallied in the ninth minute and led 4-0 before MUW would net what would be its lone goal of the day.

Appropriately enough, The W's goal came from leading scorer Kyle Morris. The senior took a pass from Preston Holmes and netted his 12th goal of 2025 at the 34:13 juncture.

Morris also extended his lead as the SLIAC's leading goal scorer, as well.

Morris took three of MUW's seven total shots, putting each on frame. Trey Parnell also took three shot attempts.

Owls' goalkeeper Nick Gutierrez had 10 saves in the match. He was charged with all 10 Golden Eagle goals, as well.

The W will try to right the ship on Sunday (Oct. 5) in a non-conference match at Berea College (2:30 p.m. CST).
