LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The W women's soccer was shutout in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) match at Spalding University, 7-0. The Owls fell to 0-9-1 overall (0-2-0 SLIAC), while the Golden Eagles – perched atop the SLIAC standings - improved to 8-3-1 (2-0-0 SLIAC).
The host SU side tallied first in the 8th minute and added three more goals before the intermission to lead, 4-0, at the break.
MUW not only faced a serious offensive barrage, but also a strong Golden Eagles defense that did not permit the visiting The W team a shot or a corner kick in the match. Spalding, conversely, took 31 shots, with 16 on frame.

The W will stay in Kentucky to play a non-conference bout at Berea College on Sunday (Oct. 5) at 12 p.m. CST.
