BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The W freshman
Cortland Earl (New Albany, Miss.) has been named as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (SLIAC) Player of the Week for track events, it has been announced by the league office. Earl is the third Owl – joining teammates
Keegan Strong and
Allen Fields – to be honored by the SLIAC during the indoor track and field season.
Earl set a school record for the indoor 60-meter hurdles at the Samford Bulldog Invitational on Saturday. Earl ran a time of 9.19 seconds, which ranks as the second-fastest time in the 60 hurdles for the SLIAC this season.
He also had personal best marks in both the long and triple jumps.
