ELSAH, Ill. – The W men's track and field team finished in sixth place at the 2025 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at Principia College. The Owls had two medal winners, including the lone event champion for either gender.
As a mater-of-fact, freshman
Malachi Stafford's championship in the men's high jump turned out to be the very first of the medals awarded in the meet. Stafford took the title – and set an MUW school record – with a height of 1.88 meters on his fifth attempt of the competition.
Stafford also picked up points for his team in the men's 60-meter dash, as well. Stafford placed sixth in a clocking of 7.19 seconds.
MUW also had a bronze finish in the 60-meter hurdles, where sophomore
Allen Fields had a school-record run of 9.05 seconds. Teammate
Cortland Earl was right behind Fields, finishing in a time of 9.11 seconds in fourth place. Both times eclipsed the previous MUW record in the race.
The W men picked up team points in the 200 meters from
Jailon Warner (5th/23.30), 4x400 relay (5th/3:11.86),
Sinaj Lynn with a school record in the triple jump (6th/12.31m), and
Noel Kellum in the shot put (8th/11.31m).
