LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The W softball team has had 10 members of its 2026 roster honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, it has been announced by the organization. Cited from the Owls' roster were: Kaitlyn Bearley (Sr./Columbia, Ill.), MC Brown (Sr./Loretto, Tenn.), Brianna Byrd (Jr./Petal, Miss.), Gillion Eaves (Fr./Louisville, Miss.), Rachel Etheridge (Fr./Memphis, Tenn.), Trinity Garvin (Fr./Olive Branch, Miss.), Asia Glass (Jr./Noxapater, Miss.), Avery Johnston (Fr./Caledonia, Miss.), Addison Owen (Jr./Pontotoc, Miss.), and Brooklyn Rhodes (So./Vancleave, Miss.).

To receive the NFCA's Scholar-Athlete Award, individuals needed a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for the 2025-26 academic year. In all, a total of 8,850 collegiate student-athletes – across all levels of softball - captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2025-26 academic year. 

The NFCA honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,637 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2025-26. NCAA Division III followed with 2,491, and NCAA Division II with 1,869. Junior colleges and NAIA came in with 1,190 and 655 student-athletes, respectively.
