COLUMBUS, Miss.—Mississippi University for Women Athletics will pause competition for its volleyball program this season and plans to resume with a full roster in fall 2027.
 
"The interruption of the volleyball program is not the outcome we wanted," Director of Athletics Buddy Foster said. "Unfortunately, a combination of circumstances significantly depleted our roster. We looked at every possible option and carefully considered the situation before determining that a one-season pause was the best course of action."
 
New Head Coach Donna Day will work to build a full roster for the Owls volleyball program in preparation for the 2027 season. Day, who began her position Aug. 1, brings 17 years of coaching experience to Owls Athletics, including 12 years as a head coach at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels.
