Box Score TOUGALOO, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women volleyball team lost a heart-breaking, five-set match on the road at Tougaloo College on Thursday evening. The Owls were topped by set scores of 25-22, 21-25, 22-25, 25-15, 13-15 by the host Bulldogs.

Madison Suggs (Caledonia, Miss.) served out the final three points.
Suggs would finish the night five assists and a match-high 16 digs.
Tougaloo then had MUW's back to the proverbial wall. The Bulldogs won set two, evening the match at 1-1. In the third set, TC posted a 25-22 win to go up 2-1 in sets. However, the Owls clawed back in the must-win fourth set, winning handily, 25-15, and forcing the deciding fifth frame.
The match finale proved to be a back-and-forth set. Tougaloo closed out The W's hopes, 15-13, in the fifth set.
The Owls' freshman outside hitter
Maggie Griggs (Tupelo, Miss.) had a match-leading 13 kills. Griggs also made five digs and served up two aces.
In all, The W drew nine aces against the Bulldogs. Sophomore setter
Camryn Johnson (Caledonia, Miss.) served up five of those winners. Johnson was also effective on defense with 13 digs for MUW's cause.
On the attacking side, sophomore middle blocker
Jadelyn Trice (Cherokee, Ala.) had seven kills.
Hannah Duran (Madison, Miss.) chipped in five kills, while
Llayne Skinner (Danville, Ala.) and
Jasmine Kelly (Louisville, Miss.) had four kills, apiece. Duran also dished off seven assists and made 11 digs, with Skinner adding 13 digs.
Griggs and Trice were each credited with one solo block in the match.
The W will next travel to Pulaski, Tenn., to take on the University of Tennessee-Southern on Saturday (Oct. 2) at 12 p.m.
