The MUW Owls made quick work of Cairn University in their fourth day of play in Myrtle Beach, SC, defeating them in two games. After the games, Coach Foster had this to say about his team's effort- "Our last 3 outings by our pitchers have been outstanding. All three of them have had quality starts and went the distance in their respective games. Offensively, we can be a very productive team when we get our speed on base. We put a lot of pressure on their defense today, and the middle of our lineup stepped up and produced big time today." 

Game 1 (W 5-1)

Amelia Stalter pitched all 7 innings for the Owls in Game 1. Stalter, backed by a powerful defense, only allowed 1 run on 2 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. 

In the batter's box, the Owls breezed through Game 1, starting off strong with a stand up triple by Jessica Deming, who then scored on an error by the shortstop. In the fourth inning, Austyn Holden scored on a pass ball, followed by Ashton Farnell, who went 2 for 2, scoring Jaelynn Palmer and Morgan Gresham. The last run of Game 1 for the Owls came when Katie Beth Williams scored on a throwing error by the shortstop to first base. 

Game 2 (W 11-0)

In Game 2 for the Owls, Kaitlyn Parrish and her defense showed what they were capable of on both sides of the plate. Parrish, a senior, was only two outs away from a no-hitter when the Highlanders dropped a ball into left field. When asked what her mindset was before and after the hit, Parrish said, "I, honestly, wasn't focused on the no-hitter. From the beginning of the game, I felt very comfortable with my catcher, Marley Poole, calling my pitches. Even when I allowed the one hit, I knew I could trust my defense to back me up to finish what we started." Parrish had 1 hit, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts in the contest. 

On the offensive side of the plate, MUW's bats stayed hot in Game 2. Iyana Canada, Austyn Holden, Jessica Deming, and Katie Beth Williams all collected a double, while Maddy Suggs collected 2. Suggs went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs in Game 2, while Megan Cummins also had 3 RBIs, Austyn Holden had 2 RBIs, and Morgan Gresham and Anna Kate O'Bryant had 1 RBI each.
