The Owls started the day strong, but fell victim to a rallying Rio Grande offense, losing 7-4 in Game 1 and 6-1 in Game 2. After the games, Coach Buddy Foster spoke on behalf of the team's effort, "I was really proud of the team today, and the way they handled the adversity thrown at them.
