Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. – Mississippi University for Women Volleyball was defeated by Sewanee: The University of the South, 3-0. The Owls (1-3) lost to the Tigers (2-2) by set scores of 20-25, 21-25, 18-25.
 
As a team, The W was out-hit, .113 to .261 in the match. MUW had 29 kills, compared to 47 for thr Tigers.
 
The MUW attack was led by Zoe Hansen. Hansen had nine kills and a solid .316 attack average for her 19 total attempts.
 
Teammate Maggie Griggs had a team-leading .353 attack average. She had seven kills in 17 attacks, as well as one of the Owls' five service aces.
 
Sophomore Hannah Duran had a balanced night with four kills, two blocks, five digs and three assists. Libero Maddy Suggs led MUW with 15 digs, while also chipping in six assists.
 
Setter Camryn Johnson's 12 assists topped the Owls. She had six digs to her credit, as well.
 
The W will host its Owls Invitational in Pohl Gym on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 10-11). The Owls open versus Fisk University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
