BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Sophomore Allen Fields (Saltillo, Miss./Saltillo H.S.) has been selected as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Track Athlete of the Week for the period of January 14-19, 2025, it was announced on Monday. The W competed at the Samford Open on Saturday and then at the KMS Invitational on Sunday, both at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
 
 Fields slashed 24/100ths of a second off of his school record in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday with a clocking of 9.26 seconds (his previous time was 9.50). Then, on Sunday, Fields clipped another fraction of a second off of that time with a 9.25 at the KMS meet.
 
Fields has the No.1-ranked time in the SLIAC for the 60-meter hurdles.
 
"This is an award well-deserved for Allen," MUW Head Coach Dedrick Burnett said. "We have made so much progress since last season. Coming off a great weekend with two personal bests in the hurdles and posting the number one time in the conference, got to feel good for him and will boost his confidence."
