COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W volleyball standout Skye Letson (Courtland, Ala./Lawrence County H.S.) has won the St, Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week, it has been announced by the league office. Letson led the Owls to a pair of SLIAC victories last week, helping the team put itself in contention for a possible first-ever SLIAC post-season bid.

Letson, who came to The W by way of Southern Union State College in Alabama, is the first Owl to win the SLIAC honor in volleyball in two seasons and the first to be honored on offense. Former Owl Maddy Suggs – who holds all of the Owls' modern era digs records – won the POTW for defense in 2023. 

In three overall matches last week, Letson amassed 45 total kills, averaging 3.8 kills per set played. Letson not only had quantity in her efforts, but quality, as well, with a sterling .314 attack average. Included in her totals last week was a season-high 19 kills in Sunday's upset of SLIAC third-place team Blackburn College on the road.

She also had four total blocks on her ledger last week.

Additionally, Letson stretched her string of matches with double digit kill totals to 11 straight and 15 matches, overall, in 2025.

"Skye is one of the hardest workers in our gym and is constantly finding ways to elevate her game and add new tools to her skill set," MUW Head Coach Breyle Linder said. "She consistently competes with joy, composure, and a smile, even in the most high-pressure moments. She holds herself to an incredibly high standard and leads by example every single day. She's reliable, selfless, and is always ready to do whatever the team needs."

Letson and her teammates resume action on Thursday (Oct. 23/7 p.m.) with a non-conference match at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee.
