BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The W track and field had three school-record efforts on Saturday at the Samford University Bulldog Open indoors at the CrossPlex. A total of 12 Owls registered personal best times or distances in the meet.

In the men's 60-meter hurdles, freshman Cortland Earl bested teammate Allen Field's previous record. Earl crossed the finish line in a time of 9.19 seconds. Fields had set the record two weeks ago, with a 9.26 on the same track.

Then in the men's high jump, Malachi Stafford matched his own record in the event. Stafford cleared 1.84 meters.

The Owls' third record of the day came via distance standout Hannah Owens. In the women's mile, Owens lowered her own MUW record by finishing in a time of 6:06.67 at the Bulldog meet.
