BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore distance specialist Hannah Owens had a pair of school records to highlight The W track and field team' efforts at the University of Alabama-Birmingham Green & Gold Invitational at the CrossPlex.
 
In both cases, Owens bettered her own MUW school indoor meet record. In the women's mile, Owens ran a time of 6:06.30 minutes, lopping better than 12 full seconds off of her previous record of 6:18.50 set a year ago on the same track.
 
In the women' 3000-meter race, Owens crossed the line in a clocking of 11:59.69 minutes. The lowered her MUW record from 12:11.09 minutes et at last year's SLIAC indoor championships.
 
Freshman Malachi Stafford added a record as the first Owl to compete in the high jump. Stafford had a bet height of 1.76 meters.
