Owls Volleyball set to attack the 2025 campaign

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W volleyball – under second-year head coach Breylee Linder – is set to embark on its 30-match slate for the 2025 season. The Owls will have a total of 11 home matches, spread over nine dates at Pohl Gym.

MUW will jump into the season by traveling to the Jenny McDowell Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia, hosted by perennial national NCAA III power Emory University on August 29-30. The Owls will open with LaGrange College, before facing host Emory and St. Catherine University.

The W will then begin a stretch of five consecutive, non-conference home matches, beginning with Freed-Hardeman University on September 2 (7 p.m.). On Sept. 9 (6 p.m.), the Owls will welcome regional rival Belhaven University. Saturday, Sept. 13, will provide fans with a pair of matches against the United States Sports Academy (12 p.m.) and Stillman College (4 p.m.), as well as serve as the program's annual Alumnae Day. Another regional foe – Millsaps College – rounds out the home skein on Sept. 17 (6 p.m.).

That begins a stretch of three weeks of road or neutral-site bouts for the Owls, not returning to Pohl Gym until October 6.

St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) action begins with a Sept. 30 tri-match at Webster University (10 a.m.), while also facing Blackburn College (12 p.m.). On Sept. 26, The W returns to the St. Louis area for an SLIAC faceoff at Westminster College. Another SLIAC tri-match comes on Sept. 27 at Greenville University (10 a.m.), where MUW also takes on Eureka College (12 p.m.).

A non-conference respite occurs on October 1 with a return date at Belhaven (6 p.m.). That's followed by a pair of SLIAC matches in Batesville, Arkansas, on Oct. 4, where MUW has a rematch with Greenville (12 p.m.) and faces host Lyon College (2 p.m.).

Four home matches follow. A pair on non-league contests versus Crowley's Ridge College (Oct. 6/5 p.m.) and Huntingdon College (Oct. 15/ 6 p.m.) sandwich a SLIAC tri-match on Oct. 11 with Westminster (10 a.m.) and Lyon (2 p.m.).

On Oct. 18 and 19, The W makes another trip to southern Illinois for matches at Eureka and Blackburn, respectively. Oct. 23 (7 p.m.) features a return date at Freed-Hardeman, before a SLIAC match on Oct. 25 (1 p.m. CT) versus Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Owls finish SLIAC regular season action at home on November 1, facing Spalding (10 a.m.) and Webster (2 p.m.) at Pohl Gym. It will also be Senior Day for MUW's program.

The W caps the regular season with four straight non-SLIAC matches. The Owls will be at Millsaps on Nov. 4 (6 p.m.) and Sewanee on Nov. 7 (2:30 p.m. CT). On Nov. 8, The W is at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, where it plays Maryville College (1 p.m. CT) and Covenant (3 p.m. CT).

The SLIAC post-season tournament is slated for Nov. 13 and 15, 2025.
