Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 Against LeTourneau

Box Score

COLUMBUS, Miss – The Owls women's soccer team played extremely hard today against LeTourneau. Despite the efforts in today's match, the Owls were unable to come out with a win, losing the match 2-0. With the loss, The W moves to 0-4-0 on the season.

USCAA Goalkeeper of the Week Sarah Gilliland defended the Owls goal for the entire match. The sophomore from Brandon, Miss., prevented eight goals while allowing two to control The W defense.

Offensively, Caroline Grafe, Morgan Dennis, Sarah Walden, and Gabby Gross all recorded one shot on goal each while Chelsey Walker also was also credited with a shot.

"Thought we played hard for the entire 90 minutes," stated Head Coach Gray Massey. "We are close to getting it sorted out with players in positions but I am proud of the progression of the team."

The Owls women's soccer team will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 11 when it hosts Millsaps College in the inaugural Military and First Responders Appreciation Match. The men's teams will play at 5 p.m. and the women's match will follow immediately after.
