BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The W (1-1) suffered its first loss of the season 9-0 to Birmingham Southern College on Sunday afternoon at Ann Dielen Tennis Complex. 

Sunday marked the Owls' first loss of the season with a previous victory over Louisiana College to open the season on February 15.  

The match began with doubles pair Jameson Bekaert and Alex Wisener sealing the match's first point with an 8-1 win over The W's doubles unit, Marcus Montfort and Nikola Srzic. 

The Panthers went on to collect another doubles victory and four singles victories in play and the rest in forfeits due to a limit number of Owls. 

The W will return home in two weeks to take on the Marion Military Institute on Friday, March 29.
