MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The W women's soccer team will travel to Maryville,Tenn. on Thursday, Feb. 25, to face Maryville College with a 1:00 p.m. EST first touch. This will be the second away game for the Owls of the regular season.
The Owls hold a (0-5) record after meeting some of the top teams to begin the season.
Despite navigating the boundaries of an unimaginable start to the season, the Owls have produced some notable stats against some of the top-ranked teams.
For the third straight week, senior goalkeeper
Sarah Gilliland and freshman
Caitlyn Fox have been working to protect the goal and land some saves. In the last game, Gilliland started the game with two goals allowed and one save, and Fox closed for two goals allowed and six saves.
Adrianna Parsons,
Hannah Helms, and
Megan Brown all made their presence felt on the frontline against Centenary. Parsons attempted to score the Owls first goal of the season in the last game against the Ladies. The freshman made her move in the 33rd minute but failed. The shot flew to the side of the crossbar.
Helms made two shots, one in the 59th minute and another in the 87th minute. Brown tallied a shot in the 47th minute.
The Scots are 2-0 this spring. Maryville is coming off a 2-0 win versus Piedmont College.
