Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The W women's soccer team (0-7) fell, 3-0, to Birmingham-Southern College (3-1) on Monday afternoon at Goldfarb Field. The panthers were propelled forward by a first-half goal and two second-half goals to defeat the Owls.
The W looked strong through the first 14 minutes of the game, appearing ready to battle a strong BSC squad. The Owls forced the Panthers into several sticky situations to pull four offsides and a foul.

Lizzie Truelock recorded The W's first shot of the game, but it went wide.
The two teams continued their battle over the ball up until the final minute of the period. With just a minute on the clock, Abby Branham scored the Panthers first goal to give BSC a 1-0 advantage entering halftime.
Birmingham Southern picked up goals in the 53rd and 57th minutes to complete the second-half scoring effort.
Offensively, Truelock really stepped up in an attempt to get her team on the scoreboard. The Caledonia, Miss. native led her team with three shots, of which two were on goal.
In the net,
Caitlyn Fox played the entire 90 minutes to allow three goals with 12 saves.
"[The] girls had a much better performance tonight," said head coach
Catie Lyles. "We tried out a new formation, and it took them a little while to settle into it. Communication on the field was much better tonight, and things are coming together. We are excited to see even more progress in the games Friday and Saturday."
The Owls will return to Birmingham Southern on Friday, March 5, for its second match of the week before returning home on Saturday to host Millsaps College.
