Box Score TALLADEGA, Ala. – Mississippi University for Women women's soccer team was shutout for the second-consecutive match, dropping a 3-0 road decision at Talladega College. The Owls fell to 1-2 on the year, while the Tornadoes improved to 2-5.
In reality, the scoreboard could just as easily read: Jenally Barco 3, MUW 0. That's because the Tornadoes' junior forward netted all three of her team's goals, scoring in the 11th, 48th and 68th minutes.
Despite being blanked, it was certainly not because of a lack of effort by the Owls. The W had 11 total shots in the match, putting eight directly on-goal (73-percent for the afternoon). TC had 14 total shot attempts, with nine going on frame.
The W goalkeeper
Alex Moon had six saves in her 90 minutes of work.
Kiersten Taylor led the MUW attack wit four shots, all on-goal. Teammate
Mia Mauro took three tries and had two saved by Barco.
The Owls will next be in action on Friday at home versus Oakwood University. Kickoff at the Roger Short Soccer Complex is slated for 1 p.m.
