ROANOKE, Va. – The W women's cross country standout
Hannah Owens (Olive Branch, Miss.) capped her season on Saturday morning at the NCAA Division III South Region meet, placing 114th out of 175 of the elite competitors from the region's programs. Owens entered the event ranked 152nd in the South Region.
Owens finished the six-kilometer course in a time 26:15.80 minutes. Two weeks ago, Owens ran a school record 6K time of 25:32.12 at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) championships to earn all-SLIAC accolades, as well.
"I'm very proud of this young lady, she has had a hard cross country season," MUW Head Coach
Dedrick Burnett said. "And she finally got that first team (all-conference) honor we were chasing in cross country. But this is just the first phase of her long year, as she prepares for the indoor and outdoor track and field season."
