MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Junior
Hannah Owens set a school record in the women's five-kilometer race to highlight The W's efforts at the Rhodes College Invitational. Both of the Owls' teams placed 13th at the event.

Owens bested her own MUW mark for the 5K by turning in a time of21:37.49 minutes. That lopped better than three seconds off of Owens' previous mark of 21:41.10, set as a freshman in 2023. She was 58th out of 107 runners at Rhodes.

Owens also extended her streak of being the Owls' top finisher to 15-consecutive races, every event she has run for The W in her two-plus seasons.

Destini Simmons completed the course in a time of 26:15.87, good for 97th place, while
Kymani Smith finished 101st (28:16.76).

Jaliyah Fung (32:22.94) and
Alaina Mathis (33:26.22) rounded out MUW's ladies.

The W men ran their longest race of the year, thus far – an 8K – with freshman
Jarvis Sellers leading the team for the third time in as many races this year. Sellers hi the tape in a time of 30:53.32 minutes and placed 97th (out of 122 runners).

Teammate
Noel Kellum, the lone returner from 2024, was the team's second finisher in a time of 36:08.95.
