Women's Soccer

The Owls Fought Until the End, 2-0

JACKSON, Miss – The Owls women's soccer team defended well against Belhaven University. Even with their tremendous efforts in Wednesday's match, the Owls were unable to come out with a win, losing the match 2-0. With the loss, The W moves to 2-11-0 on the season.

Goalkeeper Sarah Gilliland defended the Owls goal for the entire match. The sophomore from Brandon, Miss., prevented four goals while allowing two to control The W defense. 

Offensively, Caroline Grafe recorded two shots. Following Grafe were Mackenzie Fennell, Britain Welzien, and Dakota Stokes tallying one shot each.

The Owls women's soccer team will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 13 as they travel to compete against Centenary (LA). Kick-off time is set for 3 p.m.
