Baseball to Open Season at Southeastern Baptist

COLUMBUS, Miss. – For the first time in 347 days, Owls baseball will take the field in a competitive game when The W travels to Laurel, Miss. to open the 2021 season against Southeastern Baptist College in doubleheader action.

This will the first time the Owls have faced the Chargers on the diamond, but The W has not lost an open series since 2018 in its inaugural season. The teams were slated to meet each other Friday, but the unprecedented ice stormed delayed the game.

The W returns several key components this season, including utility player Trey Petite, senior infielder Bobby Neal, senior pitcher Drew Williams, senior infielder Logan Suggs, and power hitter Damain Benefield.

Head Coach Matt Wolfenbarger enters his fourth season and holds a 46-32 record at the helm of the Owls baseball programs.
